About the Presentation

This session will be available for pre-booking online Wednesday 28th October - Friday 6th November 2009

The HP Optimised Data Centre (DC) Simulation

Is an exciting interactive workshop where participants will experience the business benefits that increased synergy (collaboration and process integration) between “Facilities” and “IT” can bring to their Data Centre. You will also experience the impact of and differentiate between Mission Critical and other Services – see how employing a targeted, prioritised solution can save £000’s in lost business and dramatically improve the quality of services on offer.

Set against the “high octane” world of motor sport, where every second counts (this is a special version of our popular ITIL process focused “Race to Results”), the simulation is FUN, but will “drive home” a variety of messages including:

a.     The choices between Tier1 and Tier4 data centres

b.    How we link IT performance with Business performance

c.     Identifying and addressing Mission Critical Services

d.    The real impact of virtualisation

e.     Improving your PUE (power usage effectiveness)

Real-time race car performance and business system displays are supported by simulated data centre facilities, power and cooling systems, servers, storage, virtualisation technology and applications combined with the key operational processes, we simply add-in roles and responsibilities and mix it up!

Join the action, join the fun and book now.

About the Speaker

John has over 25 years experience in Service Management and was one of the first to pass the ITIL V3 Managers’ Bridge exam.  Formerly with the itSMF-UK he is the Service Management Portfolio Manager for HP.  Well known for no nonsense and honest presentations, his passion and approach has been described as "refreshing"!  An advocate of empowering people within a benevolent dictatorship he continues to actively support the itSMF and the IoSM.

Steve Stroud joined HP in 1999working within HP's Relocation and Data Centre Services portfolio. Following the acquisition and subsequent integration of EYP he now heads up the newly created HP Critical Facilities Services (CFS), dealing with all aspects of a DataCentre from upgrade to new build, from power and cooling to cable and connectivity.  His practical approach ensures that CFS create data centres that will balance efficiency – “Green IT” against inevitable costs and risks.
